Keep up with the latest in business technology

AT&T is making the news with a new technology that could potentially bring High Speed Internet to people in remote locations, something that rural communities have been promised for over a decade, but has never become a reality. Currently, it is those in large towns, and businesses which benefit from internet services such as those provided by https://www.eatelbusiness.com/phone-solutions, but it’s only fair that this extends to everyone.

AT&T held a press release on 20 September 2016, with a new concept that played off of the original ideas of the past. AT&T has officially left the world of cabling behind. This is good news for those of us who live in the mountains or are just outside of reach for traditional broadband solutions like Eatel (click here for site). Few of us remember about a decade ago when Google and IBM attempted to deliver broadband internet through powerlines, a project that was considered too expensive, unreliable and largely interfered with emergency radio signals. AT&T’s new plan could prove to be more reliable, more cost effective and much faster at multi-gigabit speeds. It could be worth people going to https://att-bundles.com/internet to see the new options available to them in light of this.
Project AirGig is the culmination of almost a decade of work and over 100 patents. The idea is, to attach an antenna to powerlines, which are already in place, to carry and guide wireless signals into areas that were just too expensive to cover previously. The antenna would be at the top of a powerline and use 5.5 million miles of local distribution lines and 200,000 high voltage lines to send signals from one antenna to the next, practically eliminating the need for cell towers and eventually moving the world a step further into 5G.

“Its easier to deploy than fiber, and can deliver ultra-fast wireless connectivity” John Donovan, AT&T’s chief strategy officer, stated during a conference call Tuesday.

The project has already passed it’s initial testing phase and is set to start rolling out the AirGig antennas to select cities and countries by next year. The company plans to target remote areas, but still seek to completely cut the cord. Although still in an experimental phase, the new technology could potentially bring the days of dial-up connections in the mountains, to its evolutionary end.

Perhaps, at last, someone will actually deliver highspeed Internet to people who prefer not to live in the middle of a concrete jungle. If you’re looking for a cheap, highspeed wifi plan, search for internet in my area.

As always, let’s be careful out there!
