Keep up with the latest in business technology

The latest routine patch for Windows Server unexpectedly caused numerous issues for administrators and end users including random reboots of domain controllers, failure to load Hyper-V on Windows servers, and problems connecting using an L2TP VPN connection. In these unprecedented times, VPN connections are vital to network and data security. With more people than ever before relying on these kinds of connections to perform their occupations, Luckily, thanks to feedback provided by the community, Microsoft has quickly identified the cause of the issue.

Microsoft is rolling out emergency patches today, Jan 18th, that will address these issues. If you experience any of these issues, you should first check Windows Update and download any available updates. If you don’t see any updates available in Windows Update, and you are using Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012, or Windows Server 2012 R2, check the Microsoft Update Catalog (https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx) for the correct patch.

If that doesn’t fix the issue, feel free to contact us immediately!
