On October 10, 2017, Microsoft released a new cumulative update for Windows 10 Creators update PC's.  For enterprise environments, there have been issues with the machines showing a blue screen with the error "inaccessible boot device" after the update reboots the computer. This hasn't been a concern for most home users, but few have been able to provide proof that this is actually happening at home as well. The issue only occurs once the machine has rebooted after the update has run and appears to happen due to the update crashing in the middle of the process.

The update (KB4041676, upgrade from 1703 to 15063.674) that appears to be causing the problem has not been addressed by Microsoft, yet, but since it has already been released, we suggest that our friends and family are aware of the issues that exist, and if you can, ensure that you have a good backup and try to postpone the updates if possible. There are some recommended fixes for the issue, but they have only been tested in certain environments and haven't been effective in all aspects of the process.
