So, this is it, folks! According to Microsoft, the FREE upgrade offer to Windows 10 from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 supposedly end on July 29th, just a week from now. Many people have been sitting on the fence for months, clicking on the “Not Now” option (or clicking the X to close it, or just ignoring it). At one point, you were given these two options: Upgrade Now or Upgrade Tonight:

Anyway, we have already written a blog about the forced upgrade that Microsoft was pushing out for a while; it caught a number of our clients by surprise.
So, now you have one week left to make that final decision, and perhaps you’re still not sure which way to go. You have probably heard success stories from friends who took the free upgrade and they love it. You have probably heard from other people who took the upgrade and it mangled their computer so badly that they had to roll back to Windows 7 or Windows 8 (with a few broken components) or even wipe their computer and reload everything from scratch. Is it worth the risk?
Well, I’m afraid that we can’t answer that question for you. There are rumors in the technology community that Microsoft will either extend the free upgrade offer (they really seem to want everyone to have Windows 10) or that they will bring the offer back around later this year, but we can’t guarantee that, so if you think that you’re going to take the plunge, now is the time to do it!
